Privacy Policy
This explains what Public Figure World LLC ("Public Figure," "we") collects when you use publicfigure.world, why, and what you can do about it. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't show ads.
What we collect
- Account details: email, username, display name, password (stored scrambled, never readable), country, and anything you add to your profile or shelf.
- Shop details: shop name, logo, banner, description, where you're based, and your listings, photos, 3D files and prices.
- Orders: what you bought or sold, prices, your shipping address, tracking numbers and order messages.
- Payments: Stripe handles card details and seller identity checks. We never see or store full card numbers or bank details. Stripe tells us whether a payment worked and whether a seller can be paid.
- Messages and activity: messages between buyers and sellers, offers, reviews, saved items, follows, grail alerts, reports, and your place in the Launch Day line.
- Basic technical data: pages you request, your IP address, browser type and the time, which our hosting providers log to keep the site working and secure.
Why we use it
- To run the marketplace: accounts, listings, checkout, shipping, payouts, messages and notifications.
- To keep it safe: checking listings, spotting fraud and fakes, handling reports, rights holder notices and disputes.
- To send emails you need, like order updates, and ones you choose, like grail alerts and Launch Day news. To stop optional emails, email us and we'll turn them off.
- To improve the site and follow the law, including tax and record-keeping rules.
Who we share it with
- Other people on Public Figure: your username, shop, listings, reviews and public shelf are visible to everyone. When you buy, the seller gets your name and shipping address to send the order. Messages go to the person you're messaging.
- Service providers that run the site for us: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments and payouts), Resend (email), and Anthropic (automated checks on listing text and photos, and reading a photo when you use "find from photo"). They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Rights holders: if someone sends a copyright, trademark or likeness notice about your listing, or you send a counter-notice, we share the details the law requires with the other side.
- When the law requires it, or to protect people's safety, our users or Public Figure, and if the business is ever sold or merged, to the new owner under this policy.
Cookies
We use a few small cookies that the site needs: one to keep you signed in, one to remember light or dark mode, one to hold an invite code, and one to remember your place in the Launch Day line. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. If you close it, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except what we have to keep longer for orders, taxes, fraud prevention, disputes or legal claims, usually up to 7 years for order and payment records.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change most of your information in your account. You can also ask us to send you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for something optional. Depending on where you live, including California and the European Economic Area or UK, you may have further rights under laws like the CCPA and GDPR, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

Security and where data is stored
Your information is stored by our providers, mostly in the United States, and protected with encryption in transit, access controls and row-level security in our database. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong password you don't use anywhere else. If you're outside the US, using Public Figure means your information is transferred to and handled in the US.
Children
Buying and selling are for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy in an important way, we'll tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. Questions go to contact@publicfigure.world. See also our Terms of Service.
